Beaches and Walking

Gower Peninsula, South Wales, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is so much to see and to do in this area. The Old Ambulance Station is centrally located in Reynoldston, the largest of Gower's villages. The village is pretty, and the locals are welcoming. From the house you can easily walk to Cefn Bryn and also to King Arthur's Stone. From the top of the Cefn Bryn you can see the the North and South of Gower. After a good walk here, and on your way back to the house you can stop off for refreshment at The King Arthur Hotel, which serves throughout the day. There are loads of beaches to visit and walk along. Undoubtedly, the best is Rhossili Bay and the Worm's Head - the views are outstanding, and the walks are wonderful, either along the beach, or along two other higher tracks depending on your fitness levels. Llangennith is the beach at the far end of Rhossili, and it is accessed via Hill End Campsite walking through the sand dunes. If you like surfing, there are a couple of surf schools here catering for beginners and upwards. Llanmadoc is on the North Coast further around from Llangennith. You can access Whiteford Burrows and Sands, as well as seeing the old light house located in Burry Inlet (you can walk to it at low tide). There are many other beautiful beaches and coves: Mewslade, Langlands, Three Cliffs, Pwll Du, Mumbles to mention just a few. Other activities: walking, cycling, horseriding, fishing, golf, paragliding
